Expert Solution
Step 1

Lasagna Bolognese is a classic Italian dish that consists of layers of lasagna noodles, meat sauce, and cheese. There are many variations of this dish, but here are two recipes that you can try:

Recipe 1: Classic Lasagna Bolognese

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound lasagna noodles
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 can (6 ounces) tomato paste
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  2. Cook lasagna noodles according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet, cook ground beef, onion, and garlic over medium heat until beef is browned and onion is tender. Drain off any excess fat.
  4. Add crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, water, basil, oregano, salt, and black pepper to the skillet. Stir well and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and let simmer for 30 minutes.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix together ricotta cheese and 1 cup of the mozzarella cheese.
  6. To assemble the lasagna, spread a thin layer of the meat sauce on the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish. Layer lasagna noodles over the sauce, followed by a layer of the cheese mixture. Repeat layers, ending with a layer of meat sauce on top.
  7. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese and Parmesan cheese over the top of the lasagna.
  8. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Let cool for 10 minutes before serving.
