Chapter 4.12, Problem 4.52YT
Interpretation Introduction
Interpretation:
What is my side of opinion after studying this chapter has to be explained.
Concept Introduction:
Greenhouse gases are one type of gas which traps the heat within the system and thus it increases the overall temperature of the earth resulting global warming.
Examples: carbon dioxide, methane, water vapor and ozone
Greenhouse effect: The heat near the earth surface gets trapped by the gases present in the earth atmosphere. It is known as green-house effect. The carbon dioxide is the primary gas that traps more heat.

Describe two ways that people can change their habits and choices to reduce their personal greenhouse gas emissions. In each case, be clear about how the change reduces emissions.
4. Photochemical smog is a type of air pollution in the troposphere of our planet produced when sunlight
acts upon motor vehicle exhaust gases to form harmful substances such as ozone (O3). For example,
nitrogen dioxide (NO2) reacts with atmospheric oxygen (O2) in the presence of light to produce ozone (O3)
and nitrogen monoxide (NO).
Without naturally occurring greenhouse gases, Earth's average global temperature would be near 0°F (or -18°C) instead of the actual value of 59°F (15°C). How do atmospheric greenhouse gases warm Earth? Do not use the word “trapped” in your answer
