Concept introduction:
Glucose and fatty acids, both are major sources of fuels. However, fatty acids yields approximately 2.5 times as much energy per gram as carbohydrates (glucose). Fatty acids are comparatively much better than glucose as energy storing molecules. In the body, some organs prefer to use glucose as a source of energy while functioning while some prefer fatty acids. There are also certain organs which prefer both.
