The way by which glycine and phenylalanine react to form a dipeptide has to be given.

Concept introduction:

Peptide is a short polymer of amino acids joined by peptide bonds and they are classified by the number of amino acid in the chain and so a dipeptide contains two amino acids and is joined by peptide bonds.

Peptide bonds are formed by a condensation reaction of carboxylic group of an amino acid and amino group of another amino acid with the removal of water molecule.

Oligopeptide is formed of 2 to 10 amino acids.

Polypeptide is formed of more than 10 amino acids.
