Question
Chapter 8.3, Problem 4CYU
Summary Introduction
To review:
The chances for the presence of synchondroses at the ends of the femur in a 25-year-old boy.
Introduction:
The three structural classes of joints are fibrous, cartilaginous, and synovial joints, depending upon the presence of the joint cavity and the binding material that connects the bones together. The joint cavity is only present in case of synovial joints. The binding material in fibrous joints is collagen fibers, cartilage in the cartilaginous joint, and dense irregular connective tissue (articular capsule) in synovial joints.
