Introduction:

Many organisms attack other organisms and cause infectious diseases. All organisms have a well-defined organ system that fights with these pathogens and protect the body from infectious diseases. This organ system is called the immune system. The disorder in which antibodies treat the body’s molecules as pathogens (antigens) is called autoimmunity. For example, diabetes 1 is an autoimmune disorder as antibodies kill the cells that produce insulin.
