Introduction:
A Karyotype is the test which is used to study the number, shape and appearance of nucleus in the eukaryotic cell. It is visual display of chromosomes that are arranged by size, their banding patterns and the shape. It is done to study any abnormality that can cause chromosomal or genetic defect. Karyotype is used for many purposes like, studying chromosomal abnormalities, cell functions and gathers information about evolutionary events.
There are various processes of karyotyping or testing a fetus by which the abnormalities in anatomy or any genetic disorders can be detected beforehand and can be prevented.
