Eli was in the shop checking on the shipment that had come in this morning. Glad to see that the parts he had ordered for his current restoration project were all here and in good condition. This put him in a great mood.
He was about to head out of the shop to check in at the front desk when Mike caught up to him.
“Tandy just called.”
“Augh. What now?”
“She didn’t say. She just said to have you call her.”
“Yeah I’ll get right on that.” Eli didn’t bother to reign in the sarcasm.
Mike chuckled and shook his head. Eli smirked.
“At least she didn’t sound pissy for a change,” Mike said.
“That my friend is not always a good omen.”
“True. Anyway, I’m heading out for lunch. Can you cover the front?”
“No problem. Can you bring me back something?”
“Of course.” Mike sauntered out.

He didn’t recognize the number so he answered it without reservation.
“Hello.”
“Eli, it’s me.”
Eli groaned. He should have expected that if she couldn’t reach him through the shop she’d keep calling him until she found him.
“Hello Tandy, what can I do for you?”
“I wanted to call you with the good news.”
“Okay, what’s up?”
“I’m pregnant.”
Eli rolled his eyes. This was the first time he’d talked to her in months. The exchanges with Addison had been done with her mother so there had been no interaction between them. He’d been glad that he hadn’t had to deal with her since the last time they were in court.
“Eli did you hear me. I’m having a baby.”
“Yeah, I heard. I’m happy for you. And Luke I assume.”
“Don’t be a jerk Eli.”
“I’m sorry, but you have to admit it’s an honest question.”
“Yes it’s Luke’s.” Tandy replied in a huff.
“Why are you calling me about it?”
Scratching his head he couldn’t fathom why she thought he should be made aware of this
“Well, believe it or not, it’s true.” Dean’s voice was low as he let go of her arm and leaned back on the couch. “Though I guess my timing isn’t the best for it to sound sincere.”
Although he was sitting in the parlor, Eli could hear every word said between Mary and Allie. When Mary walked to the door and told him that the Missus said that she would be right down, he thanked her copiously and apologized for the early hour, telling her that he knew it was too early to visit, however it was of the utmost importance or he would have waited to come at a more decent hour. Nodding her head, Mary accepted his apologies, and then smiled at him- she thought better of him afterward.
Next, I find myself upset that Eli was too much of a coward to confess in the first place. I am angry that the parents found out from Dr. Warren, not Eli. Since he was the one to lie, he should be the one to uncover the truth. He got the easy way out. "Eli's parents did not know this because Eli had found the awful notice in the mail and had torn it up." I understand how he must feel, but when this is revealed I could not believe that he did not tell his parents.
“Yes!” Luke was fighting to keep from screaming at the older man, his voice coming out in a hiss instead of a yell.
A small chuckle escaped James lips and he scratched his neck. “Seems like we'll have to relive the past for a little while here.”
However, when the time came he didn’t follow through with his actions: “In the middle of the room he found her lying on her back, her face covered with her sleeves. The moment he saw her, he scurried back to the kitchen. His face had a

After a while, a little smile crept up onto my face. “Well, maybe just a little swim in the deep end.” I said quietly to myself. I bravely walked out of the pool, wincing at the hot ground. My footsteps turned into splashes as I walked into the bubbling hot tub. In the refreshing warmth of the hot tub, I turned to the people in the hot tub, and Sydney’s smeared with sunscreen face stared back at me. And Emily, turned in the other direction lounging around, turned to look at me. “Okay guys, I am going to go,” I started, trying to keep my face strong, “for a swim in the deep end.” I finished, my voice quivering. They both gasped and looked at me like I was crazy. “Will one of you come?” I said, my whole body shaking. “I will!” Emily exclaimed.
Still he had hope, he hadn’t seen her since it happened, so he couldn’t gage her reaction. He wanted to see her again so fucking badly. But he wasn’t going to go out of his way to see her. She said she’d see him again to check on the raptors for the investors, so she had to come see him eventually.
Johnny mumbled, “Why is it people who were supposed to be so smart are so damn stupid?”
Tom was nice. One night at dinner, he promised to explain the joke to me.
Silence wedged between them until they walked past a familiar storefront for the third time. It was Kiana, not Zeke, who noticed first. "Ezekiel," she mumbled. "I think we're lost."
When Thomas’s lips released hers, she was limp in his arms. Eli cleared his throat, but they both ignored him.
“At least you won’t have to worry about that this time- he has set you up in a nice home with servants to look after you. Now, please forgive me and let’s have a nice visit- I want to share the latest news of what’s going on in Charleston.” Although Allie tried to pay attention to what Eli was saying, her thoughts were on Thomas, wondering where he was…
