Python

Smallest and largest numbers in a list

Write a program that reads a list of integers into a list as long as the integers are greater than zero, then outputs the smallest and largest integers in the list.

Ex: If the input is:

10
5
3
21
2
-6

the output is:

2 and 21

You can assume that the list of integers will have at least 2 values.

Tam.py
1
2 largestInt = e # making variables to store the largest/smallest int
3 smallestInt = e
4
5 # loop where we check every line for largest/smallest int
6 for line in integers:
if largestInt <= int(line.strip()): # converted a string into an int
largestInt = int(line.strip()) # made that int into largestInt
if smallestInt >= int(line.strip()): # converted a string into an int
smallestInt = int(line.strip()) # made that int into smallestInt
7
10
11
12 integers.close() # closes the file
13
14 # print results
15 print("Smallest = ", smallestInt)
16 print("Largest = ", largestInt)
