The Importance Of Civil Engineering

Some engineering schools and 2-year colleges have agreements whereby the 2-year college provides the initial engineering education; and the engineering school automatically admits students for their last 2 years. In addition, a few engineering schools have arrangements, whereby a student spends 3 years in a liberal arts college studying pre-engineering subjects and 2 years in an engineering school studying core subjects, and then receives a bachelor 's degree from each school. Some colleges and universities offer 5-year master 's degree programs. Some 5 or even 6-year cooperative plans combine classroom study and practical work, permitting students to gain valuable experience and finance part of their education.

I strive to be able to obtain a degree from one of the top engineering schools in the United States. I want to take my education all the way to a doctorate in Aerospace Engineering. I try to put my grades first when it comes to school. Academics should be a number one priority for students. Having a professional and mature attitude in class should be a quality all students strive to achieve.

Students learn about building and maintaining bridges, airports, highways, railroads, buildings and reservoirs. This construction degree requires knowledge of business, economics, management and engineering. Construction engineering is different from construction management because students focus on the math, science and engineering principles used to design projects, analyze problems and create quality solutions. Students learn about commercial, residential, transportation and infrastructure designs, plans, systems and models. They learn about cost estimating, project planning, staff scheduling, material procurement, equipment selection and temporary structures. Graduates will work in the construction industry and enjoy the status of a being professional

The benefits and opportunities to embrace engineering far outweigh the difficulties in the process, but despite this, my pure love for mathematics has been the major contributor to my ambitions. From a young age, I found math incredibly enjoyable. The order and consistency found through something as simple as the order of operations served as a driving force to my curiosity and dedication to the subject. As the mathematical concepts intensified, I was able to adequately keep up and enjoy the journey along the way. While signing up for my senior year classes, the decision to take calculus was made easily. While speaking with the instructor, Yvonne Sebastian, I discovered that her love for math was derived from similar feelings. In an interview with Sebastian, she stated, “Math is a beautiful thing. Numbers are incredibly simple, but they can be used to calculate very complex scenarios. No matter how difficult a problem may seem, there is always a solution, an answer that can be found and understood through the power of math” (Y. Sebastian, personal communication, February 14, 2017). Interacting with a teacher who understood to a great level of degree my similar feelings regarding math has been an incredible motivator in my desire to pursue a career which incorporates mathematics frequently. For any individual to be happy with their occupation, I would argue that they must experience a desire to progress

Imagine this: A modern student, pushed on by her parents, teachers, and guidance counselors, works her way through the entire available set of math, science, engineering, and technology courses her high school and subsequent college have to offer. She completes only the bare minimum of arts classes to graduate: four years of english, two years of foreign language, a year of fine arts, the required government and economics classes. In order to become a world-class engineering student, I will have to expand my goals and prioritize them into categories of immediate, short-term and long-term goals. My immediate goals include completing assignments by their due date, reading the assigned material before it is discussed in class and being fully prepared to face the next day of classes. Short-term goals include doing well in each of my courses, successfully participating in extracurricular activities, and learning about the engineering profession by participating in student engineering societies. Long-term goals include graduating with a bachelor’s degree in engineering, getting a position as an engineer, and becoming a leader within the engineering community as well as the general community.

Engineers are viewed as the backbone of modern society. The innovation and the creativity that drives our society forward are inspired by the teachings of engineering, whether it is transporting on a bus or making a phone call, the work of an engineer is experienced. Engineers satisfy both themselves and humanity which is the reason for my passion for engineering.
