Without Anne we would never know what life was like in the holocaust, from a personal standpoint. It came from the pages of a diary belonging to a young Jewish girl, Anne Frank. The Diary of Anne Frank has been read by hundreds of millions of people around the world since the end of World War II.

Anne Frank’s Diary has been a national phenomenon since 1947, when it was published. Anne’s story has inspired millions of people around the world with her story of hope and growth through dark times. When she was 13 years old, Anne’s family was forced to go into hiding.

Anne Frank was a young Jewish girl who was forced into hiding during the second world war to escape the Nazis. On her 13th birthday, when she received an autograph book from her father, she vividly records her experiences through a life lived in the shadows of Nazi genocide.

The play of The Diary of Anne Frank tells the story of her family going into hiding from the Nazi’s in world war two. In this play, Anne journals and tells her story about the war that is going on and her struggles. In another book called Night it tells the story of a teen whose name is Elie having to struggle to live in a concentration camp in world war two. Although Elie Wiesel and Anne Frank had different views on the holocaust, both had a strong relationship with their father, and a religion to get them through the holocaust.

The play version of The Diary of Anne Frank tells the story of a girl named Anne who is hidden away in an attic during the Holocaust. In this play, Anne struggles every day of staying alive and could get caught by the Green Police anyday with seven other people. As the play grows more popular, a book named “Night” has very similar features to the play. In this book, it talks about a man named Elie Wiesel who’s trying to survive the horrors of concentration camps with his dad during the Holocaust. Although Elie Wiesel and Anne Frank are in two different places struggling to survive the Holocaust, they both try to make the most of it and are thankful for what they have.

As she is growing up the holocaust starts and she is forced to go into hiding for a few years. A similar novella titled Night follows Elie Weisel during his struggle during the Holocaust. This book is straight from Elie many years after the Holocaust, where he writes about all the pain and torture he went through as a teenager in concentration camps. Although Anne Frank and Elie Weisel didn’t go through the same torture and had different focuses, both felt value in their father and strength because of him.

Not to long later Margot Frank got a notice from the Jewish emigration on July 1942 ordering her to go to A work camp so Otto Frank decides that him along with his family was going to go into hiding.Otto frank makes all the preparation for them to go into hiding along the Amsterdam canals and in which prim will have his most trusted employees would help them While in hiding.

Anne Frank is resilent in many different ways such as being hopeful,strong,and persistant through the tough times of the holocaust. During the holocaust she got a diary from her father Otto Frank for her thirteenth birthday which helped her to keep sane and it also allowed her to express herself in writting and not actions. She wrote how terrible the world was and how jews were forbidden from doing many things and how much pain and suffering the germans were causing towards the jews and non-jews. Thankfully from her recieving the diary we are able to know and learn through her eyes how horrendous this was for her and

In the play called, “The Diary of Anne Frank” by Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett, the Van Daan’s son, Peter, cuts off the Star of David on his shirt. Shorty after, Anne begins to cut her star off as well. Once her star was off, Anne says, “It’s funny, I can’t throw mine away. I don’t know why” (Goodrich 709). Peter doesn’t like Anne’s decision, he thinks that she’s out of her mind, so he begins to question it. Peter reacts to this by saying, “You can’t throw . . . ? Something they branded you with . . . ? That they made you wear so they could spit on you?” (Goodrich 709). From his point of view, Peter thinks that the right thing to do is to burn it, after the way they’ve been treated by the Nazis. He sees the star as a symbol of embarrassment

In the “ Diary of Anne Frank” by Anne Frank, she stated “I could go on for hours about all the suffering the war has brought, but then I would only make myself more dejected. There is nothing we can do but wait as calmly as we can till the misery comes to an end. Jews and Christians wait, the whole earth waits; and there are many who wait for death.” Anne Frank states that the Holocaust was a very traumatic event that happened to all the people residing in Germany apart from the Jews. The Holocaust consisted of different types of violences from killing people starting with the Jews, gas chambers and putting them in concentration camps.

The holocaust was a genocide, 11 million people died. The holocaust was genocide because the Nazis did kill the Jews, not all of them but most of them, some died of sickness. Anne Frank did not get killed by the Nazis she died of sickness. The only person who survived in Anne Frank's diary was her dad, Mr.Frank. After the world war and the concentration camps Mr.Frank went back to the annex, where Mr and Mrs. Frank, Anne Frank, Mr and Mrs. Van Daan,Peter van Daan, and, Mr. Dissle, were hiding from the Nazis During World War ll and found Anne Frank's Diary and got it published. Anne Frank is now the most famous holocaust victim and she is mentioned in the museum of tolerance.

Can you imagine what it would be like to live inside an attic with 8 others? Can you imagine not being able to make a sound or move for the whole day? That is what Mr. Frank had to endure for 2 years. In the touching play The Diary of Anne Frank, directed by Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett, Mr. Frank remains calm, positive, and organized in the face of danger. His great attributes allow the inhabitants of the attic to stay alive for 2 years and, on the most part, stay happy. His attitude to stay positive is something we all should reflect on.
