Within this section, the responses from the four questionnaires returned will be shared and discussed. This is a small sample and all are based within one establishment so it is important to remember that the findings may only be applicable to this establishment and are not intended to be a generalisation or evidence about the development of professional identity in all schools.
In response to the general questions at the beginning of the questionnaire that were intended as straightforward factual questions to slide the subjects gently into discussion, it was shown that there is a breadth of teaching experience as expected. The minimum length of time teaching was five years and the longest was thirty-eight years. However, because two of the respondents had been employed in careers other than teaching the length of service did not mirror the age profile. This is significant in that this is an established team who has previously worked through many changes together. There was a range of responsibilities in terms of both subject expertise and responsibilities in terms of pay scale i.e. there were responses from teachers on the main pay scale, upper scale and from teachers with teaching and learning responsibility points.
Following the collation of information about teaching contexts and histories, the remaining questions were analysed and studied to see if there were any common themes. Where common themes occurred, they will form the basis of the detailed analysis and

The Board of Nursing is a regulatory agency that enforces the Nurse Practice act through disciplinary action, provides the NCLEX for registered nurses to obtain their license to practice in that state and approves nurse education programs (Cherry & Jacob p.71). I have to renew my RN license every year on my birthday to ensure that my license remains valid and maintain safe practice by following the Nurse Practice Act. If I do not follow the Nurse Practice
Understanding one’s roles and responsibilities as a counselling professional impacts practice influences the quality of work presented, and sense of satisfaction, along with shaping one’s professional identity. Professional identity comprises the alignment of roles, responsibilities, values, and ethics being consistent with practice. Professional identity development is a complex process through which the sense of unity with a profession is established. Many counsellors view professional identity as a process resulting in companionable personal and professional uniqueness. Gale & Austin (2003) affirm as counsellors ‘engage in this individually unique growth process’, it is hoped that the counselling profession as a whole will be ‘strengthened as they reach a heightened sense of purpose and a synergistic collective identity’. To build a personal relationship with ones chosen a profession, however, it is undeniable that a clear foundation must be established, together with a professional philosophy being constructed which clarifies and distinguishes one’s profession. Conversely, parameters impacting this foundation include personal values,
The face of nursing has evolved and changed since it’s inception. Today’s nurse is faced with cultural, ethical and technological issues that didn’t exist even twenty years ago. As such, nurses have had to continuously evolve to continue to provide the quality, selfless care that patients have always relied on them for, and expected, since the very beginning of nursing. From pediatrics to gerontology, nurses are serving a culturally, religiously and financially diverse population with challenging needs. In the face of this, nursing itself is becoming ever more diverse in it’s culture and skill set, which is helping the profession stay in the race, and continue to advance the practice of nursing.

I am currently in my final year studying a Bachelor of Business majoring in Management and Logistics. I completed my high school education at a well respected school in Brisbane and received good grades, however, I was unsure of what career path I wanted to follow. I was accepted into a Bachelor of Business but deferred University to work as a retail assistant and travel. I decided to change my course of action and applied for a position for a Bachelor of Nursing. I was accepted and completed 1.5 years of the degree. However, as we run a family business, a dealer of new and used commercial trucks and trailers, my father encouraged me to transfer back into a Bachelor of Business to further my education as a business graduate. Once I transferred into the Bachelor of Business program, I commenced work as a Store Person in one of our warehouses. As I furthered my education and sustained unrelated injuries, which prevented me from working in the position, I was transferred into the Parts department to work as a Parts Administration Assistant. I soon moved down the Gold Coast and transferred from Nathan campus to Gold Coast campus to continue my studies. I commenced a new position as Online Store Coordinator and Marketing Assistant at our Yatala branch.
Every individual can communicate that he or she has heard of "Professional Identity" in life. While many individuals can communicate that the term remains familiar, few can descibe what the term means to him or her personally. According to the National League for Nursing, "Professional identity is defined as including both personal and professional development. It involves the internalization of core values and perspectives recognized as integral to the art and science of nursing" (National League for Nursing, 2014). To develop a professional indentity entails far more than acquiring experience in a profession; a professional idenity a mixture of internal and external modifications. Going into the teaching profession has been my passion for quite some time now. Although teaching can have many different stereotypes and misconceptions, I still choose to continue towards this career. Every job has it’s own stereotypes and misconceptions. My current job has allowed me to see the different stereotypes and misconceptions that come along with the teaching career field. I am fortunate to already be working in my career field so I can prepare for the future stereotypes and misconceptions when I am a teacher of my own classroom.

When developing Research Question One, the researcher assumed that there would be little correlation between results on the TELL and the SAI surveys indicating that there was not a significant relationship between teacher attitudes toward professional learning experiences based on the professional learning standards and those experiences that were not. Thus, further analysis would follow to determine if teacher opinions of standard-based professional learning were higher than professional learning not based on standards. Instead, results indicated there was a significant correlation between many of the items indicating a weaker difference in attitudes among teachers regarding the two different types of professional learning. However, some of the TELL statements significantly correlated with multiple professional learning standards. For example, the Pearson r indicated that three TELL items (statements F, K and L) correlated significantly with all seven standards and items A, D, and E correlated with six standards. See Table 4 for these results. Similar results were produced by the Spearman rs analysis with item K significantly correlating with all seven standards, items D and L with six standards, and item A correlating with five standards. See Table 3 for these findings. Coupled with the data indicating that nine or more of the fifteen TELL statements significantly correlated with four of the seven professional
