I. Artificial Intelligence The advent of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has enabled human beings to design and develop intelligent entities which can shape their responses based on their perceptions of the environment. In the past 30 years, the cognitive capacity of the computers has increased manifold. Computers which could only perform basic functions three decades ago can today play chess, recognize human voice, understand images, process natural language and display many other abilities which require intelligence of varied sorts. In the future, the range of actions computers would be able to perform could only be imagined. Artificial Intelligence (AI) is the science of creating computers to execute tasks that require intelligence. Human-like …show more content…
Machines will be able to communicate with humans in unstructured English, using voice in an uncertain environment, and will have some basic common sense (and domain-specific intelligence). High speed memory, long term storage capacity and speeds of the on-board computers will continue to increase. According to Ray Kurzweil, the capacity of robot brains will exceed that of human brains within the next 20 years. With the emergence of social networks (Semantic Social networking) and web enabled intelligent applications, in future there will be a machine that has all the knowledge about the world and the people. It would be able to understand all the content of the documents on the web and will have unlimited learning ability. Human like intelligent machines that can interact with other humans, respond to every query, manage all human personal needs and also connect emotionally like a friend can be envisaged. Such machines would understand not only text commands but also speech and gestures. They will be able to understand the semantic as well as the emotional aspects of speech such as voice pitch, irritation, affection and other emotional aspects in spoken utterances. These intelligent machines would then be able to include these aspects in their own speech as well and in its interaction with
Artificial intelligence, or AI for short, is “the intelligence exhibited by machines or software.” AI is found in many forms in our society, from video games to traffic predictions to the autocorrect in our phones. When machine personalities are no longer distinguishable from human ones, however, there will be implications for humanity. This advancement will at first be met with skepticism, and the first people to interact with these AI will not consider them sentient beings. Artificial intelligence will eventually be complex enough to exhibit human-like personality, and it is at this point that we will embrace machines, and redefine selfhood to include artificial beings. Once we consider AI sentient, they will rapidly advance until they are
When someone brings up the term “artificial intelligence”, a variety of connotations tend to arise, connotations that often are unfair or unrepresentative of the true real-world applications of such a term. Due to the incidentally fear-mongering nature of the media, artificial intelligence can refer to something as basic as a robotic arm in a factory, as well as the implied extinction and/or enslavement of the human race as caused by robo-revolution. As of today, however, when applied in the world of modern technology, artificial intelligence is defined as any innovation that performs a task usually completed by humans. Of course, with this definition, artificial intelligence holds the potential for both societal harm and benefit, and its fate
For those who do not know, artificial intelligence is exactly what is called, an "intelligence" through a computer that is artificially created by humans. A.I. is defined to be able to learn and use the information it learns to produce "thoughts" of its own, almost as if it were a thinking human. Though many may believe A.I. is just a robot which is able to speak and understand humans, it is much more than that. A.I. technologies are being implemented in smartphones, homes, cars, watches, headphones, and is also being developed to work in many more ways that help give humanity an easier life.
Robots in ten years or any year could own the future, they could take over the world or just take over people's jobs. Along with a welding job and many other jobs in the world. Robots will rule over the human intelligence, maybe today, tomorrow or sometime in the near future.
Artificial intelligence is the development of a computer system that is able to perform tasks of human intelligence like visual perception, speech recognition, and decision-making. Computer scientists have made a substantial advancement in the
Allison Berke, in her article “Future of Artificial Intelligence,” ponders the future of artificial intelligence based on the writings of several well known specialists.
Moreover, it could be argued that since machines lack the traits such creativity, intuitivity and ingenuity that are difficult or otherwise impossible to program, human intelligence cannot be duplicated nor overcomed. Some maintain that the human mind works on more than logic and reasoning, including factors such as emotions that are essential in the characteristics of a human. A computer or robot may be able to imitate human speech and thought, but it would never fully reproduce or exceed human intelligence. In the end, it is thought that since man created technology that possesses artificial intelligence, it is unlikely that humans will lose control of their machines.
Artificial intelligent, a phenomenal human creation, which will soon replace humans in near future. Day by day, robots are getting smarter and better at learning human interactions, emotions, and feelings. Robots are going to take over the world by invading every aspect of people’s lives. A collection of robot softwares and applications will help increase productivity and improve the quality of people’s lives through human-robot collaboration. As Sherry Turkle illustrates in her article “Alone Together”, that robots are becoming more and more humanistic. They are being a better companion than the real humans. They are always there for people, when then need them. They do not cheat or get angry at people, unlike humans who are constantly looking for a reason to start a fight. Robots are not just better at being a good companion than the humans, but also better at getting labor done. As Zaynep Tufekci asserts in his article “The Machines Are Coming”, that robots are faster, cheaper, and more efficient than getting the work done. The robots do not make any excuses. Nor it requires any payment from the employer to get the work done. They simply follow the order and get the work done without giving any problems to the employers. Robotic technology is advancing at such a rapid pace that highly capable humanoids robots with ability to recognize
Artificial intelligence, or AI, is a field of computer science that attempts to simulate characteristics of human intelligence or senses. These include learning, reasoning, and adapting. This field studies the designs of intelligent
Utilising a blend of PC upgraded technology crafted by human learning, we can catch the human mind and its reasoning procedures - behaving in a rational and intellectual manner, with the ability to interpret the environment in any given situation. We can reproduce comparable movements in a desirable way with endless capacity. But here raises the issue as to whether man-made artificial intelligence may one day surpass human intelligence.
The future would witness a business battle between the human mind and the robotic kind. The time when the robot species set up their own enterprises, run them using the best available technology and make huge profits isn’t far away. Being far superior to the human race in terms of computational capacity, speed, fatigue levels and resistance to attacks
Chatbots and AIs will finish most of our daily chores in the blink of an eye. Your refrigerator will automatically order groceries. Any type of water leakage at home will never go
from siri to self-driven cars, artificial intelligence is on a rapid progression. While science fiction often portrays or visualises artificial intelligence as robots with human-like characteristics, artificial intelligence can encompass anything from google search algorithms to IBM Watson’s to Autonomous weapons.
Technological advances have clearly been faster in recent years than in all human history. Artificial intelligence is growing at such a rate that the possibility that it will, one day, exceed human intelligence is becoming more conceivable. The last decades have undoubtedly been the most prolific in the scientific and technological field. Never in human history has it been possible for such progress that led to profound changes in our societies.
Since the advent of silicon chips and microprocessors the worldwide demand for computers has skyrocketed. Computer scientists around the world are pushing the boundaries of what is considered possible in their field by making their creations more sophisticated and capable year-by-year. Artificial Intelligence (A.I) is the idea of a computer system that can display acts of intelligence and independent thought similar to humans. Many people approach the prospect of artificial intelligence with fear and caution but for intrepid computer scientists true artificial intelligence is the ultimate goal. People are reaching an ever more symbiotic relationship with computers and as the world moves forward the question must be posed: Will computer intelligence ever eclipse our own?
