Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a program that can perform tasks that a human can do, like speech recognition, visual perception, language translation. AIs have been a very popular topic in scientists and engineers. An example of artificial intelligence is Watson, this program can answer questions, Watson was featured in a jeopardy game along with two former winners, Watson did, in fact, win first place with one million dollars, but Watson was only given three clues to solve the question, the program was not connected to the internet. The program quickly outsmarted his opponents, but had trouble in other categories, meaning that the program beat human intelligence on the post topic. Artificial Intelligence will become a superintelligence because of the progress rate, unstoppable singularity, and brain improvement. Although, the rate of progress will eventually lead to an intelligence explosion, in which this intelligence will surpass human intelligence. This means that the AI will start off learning like a child, the basic learning, read, math, science. This may seem very basic, but once the program learns, it can move on, the program will learn much quicker and faster than the average human can, they can adapt and comprehend things much quicker but once this program learns so much, space exploration will be easier to do by giving suggestion on creating an object or machine that can go into space and record data faster and with fewer errors. An article entitled "Weighing the
Artificial Intelligence is the taking over of machines to do tasks that would normally require a human to do. The idea of artificial intelligence has been around for years, appearing in movies and television shows to show what the future might bring. Artificial intelligence is becoming closer to a reality and now society must question if it should have a role in society. Artificial intelligence has many flaws at the moment making it impractical for use until society can address the issues facing it like the loss of jobs and how to control the use of AI.
One well known example of artificial intelligence is that of Internation Business Machines’s (IBM’s) Watson. A super computer with an algorithm that allows it to retain information and then apply it to real world
Artificial intelligence is the development of a computer system that is able to perform tasks of human intelligence like visual perception, speech recognition, and decision-making. Computer scientists have made a substantial advancement in the
The first step in getting anywhere with this debate must begin with defining what artificial intelligence is exactly. Artificial Intelligence, also known as AI, is the area of computer science focusing on creating machines that can engage in the human behaviors of intelligence.
The more and more technology grows and keeps on doing things for us, is how we are creating this "artificial intelligence". Even my own use of computers can support this. I was born in 1998, I have seen the huge advancements with computers and cellphones. My first interaction and playing on a computer was at the age of 5 and I played on the Paint program and pinball. I loved playing it everyday. When we started using computers in school, I had to learn how to type and know the basics of computers. Now that I am 17, I simply cannot live without using the computer for homework and
Artificial intelligence, or AI, is a field of computer science that attempts to simulate characteristics of human intelligence or senses. These include learning, reasoning, and adapting. This field studies the designs of intelligent
Maybe the future won’t look exactly like that, but truthfully, computers will reach human intelligence someday. They have already surpassed our calculation abilities and our speed of processing information. But we can still hold on to our intelligence for now. Artificial intelligence, the science and engineering of making intelligent machines through
Artificial intelligence is intelligence exhibited by machines. In computer science terms it artificial intelligence can be interpreted as any device that perceives its environment and takes an action that maximizes its chance of success at some specific goal. Consequently, the term artificial intelligence is applied when a machine is able to accomplish cognitive functions that humans associate with human skill such as learning and problem solving (Stuart et al). As computers have become exceedingly faster and more efficient, artificial intelligence has also rose to the forefront and is being implemented in technologies varying from autonomous cars to chess games and is increasingly becoming “smarter” as time progresses (Stuart et al).
It is true that some Al programs are more flexible, with recent innovations regarding abilities of knowing, reasoning and natural language processing and that of ASIMO, wherein an AI is able to formulate a method as to how it would walk up a ramp. However, this may not exactly mean a higher form of intelligence than that of a human’s, as even if the AI is able to further evolve, it might not necessarily mean that it would be able to gain the intelligence of an adult human. Human intelligence, after all, cannot be defined by mere programming and algorithm. Thus, it could perhaps be said that the AI lacks the ability to fully rationalize and reflect on its decisions. Therefore, as computers, and ultimately AI are designed and programmed in a systematic way, they are in a sense still not fully
Coloured by popular culture we see AI as this sci-fi fantasy of an independent thinking machine capable of making highly intellectual decisions and sometimes usurping control and power over humanity. Though fantastic prediction as it sounds and, the tune often played by press, AI has a lot to go before reaching an intelligent Strong AI. Futurist and inventor Ray Kurzweil describes, that by laws of accelerating returns the advancements in AI will have a compounding effect thus generating progress at an exponential pace. Neural networks and Reinforcement Learning, the engines behind the AI have already outsmarted humans in games like Go and Jeopardy. These highly tailored technologies are all around us and we just don’t realise, as John McCarthy
Artificial Intelligence, abbreviated as AI, is defined as the intelligence exhibited or shown by the machines. AI is the ability of a machine to mimic intelligent human actions. In other words, artificial intelligence refers to the study of “intelligent agents”.
Now let’s elaborate what AI exactly is. Artificial Intelligence is such kind of technology that makes a machine capable to act as a human as self-driving cars, robots, missile guidance etc. Here intelligent agents are designed to perform according to the real-world environment. For an instance, the voice recognition system takes the input of spoken words and reacts according to it as Apple’s Siri which listens to human voice and perform the task given to it.
Recently, Artificial Intelligence is always a heated topic no matter in what fields. It attracted lots of people’s attention because of its great performance like Alpha Go. However, AI’s great abilities like deep learning and self data analysis also has caused a lot of worries. People are worried about what may happen in the near future can be exactly like what we see in Terminator serie. Even famous people would share their non confidence to the public about AI.
By 2029, artificial intelligence will have the mind capacity of an average adult. Artificial intelligence, or AI, is an increasingly growing part of technology that affects society. AI is the theory and development of computer systems able to perform tasks that require human intelligence. It has superhuman capabilities such as programming, strategic planning and cybersecurity, which are beneficial to society. AI was just recently introduced and is progressing fast. It comes with many risks., such as being a threat to society, and being unable to stop it once it’s been released. Artificial intelligence is also beneficial because it improves transportation, education and healthcare. AI research is continually improving as time goes on. Researchers are looking for ways to help introduce artificial intelligence into society with trust from the public. AI will be a huge part of our society.
Artificial intelligence seems to be taking over this world more and more each day. It has its positives such as makes life easier, error reduction, and useful for menial tasks, but at the same time has its negatives; artificial intelligence has its anxieties about runaway artificial intelligence being warranted such as its expensive, cannot replicate a human, creates unemployment, and the A.I. can be misused if in the wrong hands.
