I feel that this means some people command the animals to work, while not understanding what the animal also wants or needs. In the debate, “Are Zoos Bad News?”, written anonymously, the author reports the ethical and unethical reasoning between zoos. This came after the attack on three victims. In my opinion, the existence of zoos should endure seeing that it educates people, zoos can alter the behaviour of people to animals and zoos promote wildlife conservation.

Zoos have always been criticized because some claim that animals are being abused and mistreated due to the lack and care of certain zoos. However, zoos actually help many animals with research and are critically important for conservation purposes. People need to understand that zoos have programs that breed endangered animals as well as rescue programs for exotic animals that people are no longer able to support. Also, they have many hands on activities that allow people to get more connected to animals. In addition, zoos do not only focus on animals. They focus on environmental problems/concerns as well. Zoos help us stay educated about environmental impacts and animal care.

Zoos have become a very visited place over a person’s lifetime, whether it be for an educational school field trip or for a day of fun. It’s a wonderful experience to be able to see animals up close in a controlled environment, keeping visitors safe from these animals, however do visitors think of what the animals are going through? Zoos are not providing enough space for captivated animals to live causing numerous problems not only involving the animals, but some visitors as well. Zoos should not be allowed to hold animals in captivity unless they significantly increase the size of each cage (change cage into something else).

Recall the line, “Help control the pet population, have your pets spayed or neutered.” Famous game show host Bob Barker recited this tagline to conclude every episode of the longest running game show aired, The Price is Right. Although notorious for hosting The Price is Right for thirty-five years, Bob Barker is also a well-known animal rights activist. Barker didn’t become famous without enduring a few speed bumps in his life. However through his dedication, determination, and doggedness, Barker has built a reputation and has made himself an established figure in today’s society.

Some people go to zoos to see the wild animals, but that’s not all that they are for. People in groups such as PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) may think that zoos cannot provide the needs to wild animals as the wild can. Zoos help animals. They have improved, helping to repopulate species and save animals in the wild.

Zoos may seem fun to visit and exciting to see the animals; but what you don’t see is the suffering and depression that lies in these helpless creatures. There are many arguments whether or not zoos are good or bad, and if they should be removed or kept. Several think that zoos should be abolished or at least very much improved, due to animal cruelty. While, others want zoos to stay because it is beneficial for the animals and people. I strongly believe that zoos aren’t good for both the public and animals for numerous reasons.

Countless land and aquatic animals are held captive in zoos. However, are zoos really conserving wildlife like they say, by putting animals on display? Negative. Zoos are unsuitable environments for wild animals, and therefore should be eradicated. Zoos should cease to exist for three main reasons: animals deserve just as much freedom and happiness as humans, enclosing them in confined habitats harms them, and imprisoning them infuriates them.

There have been a lot of problems with animals in zoos. It has gotten to the point where zoos are hated and looked upon as a places of animal torture. Are zoos really that bad? Turns out, they are. They do not have enough space, they do not allow the animals to communicate with each other, and they sell the animals to cruel circuses.

Today it has become an ever growing issue which ranges from household pets to farm animals such as cows, chickens, horses. This kind of behavior does not seem right in our everyday life and just seems wrong because animals should be treated with kindness and not hatred.

PETA, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, is the largest organization in the world that fights against animal cruelty. Their main objective is to end animal cruelty by banning any and all industries where animals suffer the most. Animals are not only used in the food industry, but in many others as well; clothing, experimentation and entertainment. PETA believes that animals’ lives are just as important as any human being’s life. They encourage vegetarianism by inspiring others to believe that animals have thoughts and feelings just as humans do, therefore implying that animals should be treated like humans. They post videos and other links supporting their fight for animal rights and give examples and stories of how animals are abused

They offer a good tool for our societies by lodging and dealing with creatures that may have been in peril at one point in their life. “100,000 kids come to London Zoo every year to learn about creatures.”[3] Usually when people come to zoos and they are taught about the conservation of some of the endangered species, a lot of these people get motivated and inspired to do something about it either by donating money or volunteering to help and so on.

Each side of the animal rights debate have many legitimate points for their argument. Supporters of animal testing believe that it helps the development of many life-saving treatments for animals and humans, there is no alternative approach because they are similar to human beings and rigorous regulations prevent exploitation of animals in laboratories. Opponents of animal testing believe that it cruel and inhumane to experiment on animals, there are other approaches available to researchers, animal tests don’t predict the results on humans and that animals have tests forced upon them, with no choice. Although it is an expensive way of testing and at the same time, it is cruel and inhumane, animal testing brings more medical advancement to

Some people agree that animals should be kept in the zoo. They said it would be safer for the animals and they won’t be extinct. The amount of possibilities of them dying, shot by hunters or any other reason, still higher than the chances of their survival. Food and shelter are provided, medicine, and their breeding is being controlled.
