“Sir we are not weak, if we make a proper use of the means which the God of nature hath placed in our power.”
Patrick Henry’s speech shows that they trust in Him by saying that God is always going to be by their side, and is going to fight their battles with them. They will become much stronger knowing God’s presence is always with them. God is leading them to achieve what is best for them.

Commentary: Trusting in God and believing that He is on our side is an essential trait when founding a nation because He is going to guide you to better things, lead you out of danger, and commit himself to bettering you. For example, the Trinity Lutheran Church in Mason City has volunteers weekly to work at the community kitchen. By doing this, they are helping our society because they are feeding those in need. This church also has people who make quilts to give to those who are homeless or in need of warmth. This shows that by trusting in God, He will make sure that everyone will get their necessities. A historical example of God being on our side is when He parted the Red Sea for the israelites and Moses. This shows that God was on their side because he lead them to safety away from the Egyptians. Trusting in God founded our country because it lead people to their destinations on American soil and He helped them develop our country today.
