Realizing this could make a huge difference and might get one of my ideas used, complete with its imperfections. Impact on Management Style Although I am not currently a manager in my department, I am the manager of my classroom. My LSI reflects how I manage my classroom pretty accurately. In regards to planning, I think the self-actualizing illustrates my planning style. According to the LSI analysis, I am effective because I am able to see possibilities and opportunities in most situations. I take an open-minded, flexible approach to my classroom activities and lab exercises, and I like to ensure that my students do the same. I don’t like doing the same old thing every day, yet at the same time I maker certain my students know exactly what we are doing every day so that they know what to expect. With leading, I feel affiliative is what drives my organizational skills. According to the analysis, I get satisfaction from my own goals, and may have a tendency to impose these goals on my students. I like to help my students discover for themselves the power of personal goal setting. With organizing, I think perfectionistic describes my style. Although I didn’t score especially high in that category, I am highly organized and know exactly what I am doing each and every day I go into the classroom, even weeks ahead of time. It sometimes can be a hindrance, as it tends to lead to a lack of
I feel that my strengths are in the ability to follow rules and utilize order and structure in the work environment and in my personal life. I feel that doing so in a work setting helps me to meet company objectives, get tasks completed in a timely manner, and continue the cycle of productivity for the company. In my personal life, I think that it enables me to be balanced and to not lose sight of who I am. When you have a structured plan for your life, you are able to pace yourself and meet those milestones you have set for yourself. While I try to base my life in order, I also accept that sometimes my goals may not go as planned,
Organization and Planning refers to how and why star teachers plan as well as their ability to manage complex classroom organizations.
The Life Styles Conflict Inventory assignment gave me a chance to see on paper how my thinking styles influence my ability to deal with conflict situation. The life styles survey is geared towards helping individuals gain an insight into their own self development and personality along with the type of behaviors we exercise to others as well. By doing the survey, I have a better understanding on how I can constructively deal with conflict as an individual. The survey also helps us take a look on the positive and negative qualities of our own personalities and different ways we to build and improve upon them.
After taking the lifestyles inventory interpretation test my primary and secondary personal thinking styles are more apparent to me. I have scored the highest in percentile of Oppositional and Power styles and very closely followed by perfectionist and competitive styles. My percentile scores in these areas were 99% for oppositional, 99% for power, and 95% for competitive. Regarding the primary style, oppositional, it is a very close perception of who I am. Taking the Life Styles Inventory (LSI) survey has really made me realized and confirm many
They suggest that measuring one’s characteristics such as sociability, drive, self-determination and demeanor can aid one to better interpret and discern them introspectively. By taking the Myers-Briggs Type Inventory (MBTI) I am able to compare my personality traits to careers in which I may enjoy, will fit my individual personality and enable me to be successful say Drummond, Jones & Sheperis (2016). The results of my self-administered inventory are as follows; Introvert (I) 55%, Intuitive (N) 76%, Feeling (F) 86% and Perceiving (P) 67%. The four dimensions of the inventory seem to be very accurate for the manner in which I view myself. The result of INFP suggests that my personality shows a predominant association with being in a career in which I am able to care for others, such as a healer. This is a correlate with my first career as a firefighter and
In order to formally assess John, I would choose to use the Level of Service Inventory – Revised (LSI-R) as it is a measure of general criminal behavior, including all violent and nonviolent offenses. Because John has multiple counts of Sales of Narcotics and one count of Assault on a Police Officer, it is important to consider general reoffending and not just general violence. The LSI-R is an actuarial measure that is widely used to predict general recidivism and is often found useful in jail, prison, and re-entry settings.
The ML2 program needed to be created after a study to identify youth programming needs. A review of other afterschool programs revealed the need to improve the ML2 program evaluation procedures. In 2016 the program organized the evaluation. The plan was developed with implementation for the following year. Several questions guided the evaluation process and discussed herein:
Life Styles Inventory (LSI) is a survey that “measures 12 specific styles of patterns of thinking that can either help or hinder a person from reaching his or her potential” (Human Synergistics). Human behavior is a perplex issue and is most often influenced by culture, religion, education, value systems, ethnic and other factors. The ILit application has a familiar structure through each unit to effectively build the skills/strategies taught to each student. After each consecutive lesson, my scaffolding becomes less and less, until the students can utilize the skills/strategies by themselves. Which is the ultimate outcome for my FL’s IEP goal towards the end of the school year. For the lesson structure, each lesson usually begins with every student having independent reading time, for at least five to ten minutes. The benefit of including independent reading before our lessons, builds on the relationship our students have with literature. This shows my students we can read for our own entertainment and at our leisure. Also being able to do the opposite, and read for
The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) “is an introspective self-report questionnaire designed to indicate psychological preferences in how people perceive the world and make decisions” (13). It is one of several personality assessments that is popular among modern mental health experts throughout the world. Currently, it is estimated that the MBTI is “taken by more than two million people per year and is translated into 16 languages (10). “The purpose of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator personality inventory is to make the theory of psychological types described by C. G. Jung understandable and useful in people 's lives” (4).
The LSI, Life Styles Inventory, measures twelve specific patterns of thinking that are broken down into three styles described as follows:
My MBTI profile is ISTP, the purpose of this assignment is to write about who I am as a leader. The qualities of a leader should be such that it not only leads to a team working effectively but also encourages them to be more creative and productive without the fear of being scrutinised and criticised constantly. In order to be such a leader, I would say I am now perhaps a more assertive but fair leader. Based on the models of SCARF and NVC, I would say I focus on the following: Status – I would more proactive in providing constant feedback to the team or individuals. Certainty – Having a plan is important, but having the correct plan is more important. The best way to do this is to discuss the plan with the team and mould it to fit the requirements
After finishing the LSI Style Interpretation for this class I was identified as have the humanistic- encouraging style as my top style with a score of 38 which placed me in the top 93 percent of persons who took the interpretation. After contemplating my work / leadership style(s) and comparing how I interact with co- workers and subordinates, I agree with the results and will further discuss my reasoning in this paper.
During this research, it was determined that I am a strong director." Directors are self-directed, conscientious, efficient, decisive, and result oriented people. They like to be the leader of groups and respond to other people's ideas when they are logical and reasonable"(Bethel University 2013,p 10) I agree with these findings. I enjoy facilitating and taking charge in situations. Listening and drawing conclusions is anther of my strong points. I enjoy gathering information and making decisions. I will use this information to help me practice leading in a group setting. Being an analyzer ran a very close second. These findings are actually how I picture my future, study and analyze information and lead groups to achieve certain goals." The key
When reflecting on my experience as both a student and a life learner, I never would have considered myself a leader. In fact, I have always been the shy kid who hides in the back of the class and panics whenever it is their turn to respond to a question. College however provided me with an opportunity to develop myself as a leader. I became more active in school activities and actively sought out leadership roles. As I’ve progressed in my professional life, I’ve become more interested in what it takes to make a strong leader. When assuming leadership roles, I’ve always considered myself an authentic leader but I know I’ve often struggled in detailing clear goals for my group or organization. Thankfully, Enrolling in the effective
