I am writing this essay is because I did not follow orders and was not at the correct place of duty at the correct time. On Friday 11Aug17 Charlie Company had PT at Barton field so people could take their PT test. I was sent a text message from my squad leader, SPC Walton, the night prior saying that we are meeting at Barton field at 0435 for Pt. I set my alarm not realizing that I accidentally set my alarm for a non PT day and went to sleep. I received a call from SPC Walton at 0443 asking where I was so I panicked and drove there immediately. Upon arriving at 0451 the people who were taking the PT test had already fallen out to prepare for their test and First SGT Keen and SSG Newell were taking to the 270 above group. After talking to them SSG Newell asked why I was late to formation and then sent me to go conduct PT with the rest of the company. …show more content…
Being late on the other hand is taking time from others as well as disrespectful to your peers and NCO who sets the hit time. Being on time is something that everyone in the military was taught from day one in Basic Training and should be instilled inside the soldier from that day on. Just like everyone says “All you have to do is be in the right place at the right time in the right uniform.” Dependable soldiers show up at least 10 minutes prior to the hit time given by our NCO because in the real army that’s the standard and there’s no room for error. People not showing up on time are probably one of the reasons why we had several Saturday formations and early hit times to the PNC. Most of us are approaching one year in the military so showing up late in not acceptable at this
One of the biggest struggles for students today, is the struggle to wake up for school in the mornings, and to make it to class on time. Because of the start times that many high and middle schools currently have, students are having to get up early to get ready, therefore providing them with little sleep at night. They are faced with their everyday schedules, things that are happening in other parts of their lives, as well as having to keep up with their schoolwork. All of this results in a loss of sleep, with the added factor of having to wake up early in the mornings. Having a later start time for schools is beneficial for student’s health, safety, and their overall performance in school.
We had been laying out Alpha sections truck when they pulled up. They proceed to hand over keys and locks to the vehicles so we could lay them out. The platoon immediately began to download these truck to finish out this long process of accounting for equipment. Most things had been pretty beat up and SSG Thomas had asked about replacements. It was about 1700hrs when a runner form the SQDN came and ask for SFC James to call the S-3. SFC James had been gone for about an hour and we had been counting BII for the trucks we had received from this poorly skilled scouts. SFC Lackey was waiting for him so they could both move through the equipment and check it. SFC James came back with an urgent mission according to him. Right then, we had to start pulling the trucks back together and getting our gear from the rooms. We had been spun up because there was a IED that the IA had found. We rushed to put together the trucks and rushed to get gear on. We spun up four trucks in less than 20 minutes. The senior guy was SSG Fielder, point man was SSG Thomas, and I was going to be the middle truck. When we pulled up to SQDN and SSG Thomas pulls me aside to speak to me about taking lead. That he wasn’t feeling taking lead. So I told he him I would and went up to meet SSG Fielder. I meet him in the ops center of SQDN and he asked where Thomas was. I told him SSG Thomas At that point SSG Fielder had gone to talk to the S-2 and the IED the IA had
My goal, over the past four weeks, focused on increasing my overall timeliness in regard to being on-time to important daily events. I decided to choose this behavior to change because lateness has been a deficit behavior of mine for quite a while. Throughout the beginning of the fall semester, each class I traveled to, I arrived tardy. Deciding to modify this behavior challenged me to have consistency especially with the implementation of daily reinforcers. Reviewing the correlational relationship of antecedents of each event and how it determined whether or not I arrived on-time, especially during the baseline week, also encouraged me to pursue modifying this deficit behavior.
Anyone who commits to furthering their education while continuing to work will definitely encounter many stressors and obstacles in balancing their daily life. Time management is a critical component in juggling the demands of work, home life, continuing education, and finding me time. Even though there may be very little an individual can actually do with regards to time management in the workplace, outside of work is a different story. While each person’s individual situation will discern what and when time management tools are utilized, it is imperative that a variety of options are tried out to find those that work best. I personally have found that a combination of meal planning and preparation, to-do lists, and help from my family to be indispensable weapons in conquering time management difficulties. The use of these three tools has greatly afforded me more wiggle room to fit in any unexpected obstacle that may come my way.
You want to show you have respect for people and you care about their time as much of your own. As I stated up above, most of the time showing up late affects more people than just you. For example, when you are running late to a office training job, you are wasting the trainors time by not be on time. They have other things to be doing than training you and now they might be more behind, due to having to train later than expected because you were late
Being on time to work and school means a lot to me. If I am running a few minutes behind my normal routine, I start to panic. Being punctual is very important.
I planned my day for the next 3 days using the activity game sheets. This activity was very interesting because having the 24 squares made it seem as if I had a lot of time in my day. This seem to be ironic because most day it seems I need some more time to get something else done or I run out of time. It was a good visual for seeing what I need to do the next three days. I will try to following and make comments each day. I will try this to try to complete my RED activities and get my course work done.
Please excuse my assignment being late because I was absent. I apologize for being absent very frequently but I'm very sick most days and doctors do not know why. My parents try very hard to figure out whats wrong with me but I've had these issues since fifth grade. So in relation to my illness I miss school frequently for doctors appointments and not feeling well enough for school.
1. List at least two specific examples of technological systems you will use to organise and prioritise tasks.
Time management is an important quality that everyone needs to have. Time management is the ability to plan and control how you spend the hours in your day to accomplish your goals (Psychology Today). Personally, I have a really hard time with time management. Time wasters are my biggest enemy. Time wasters are what keep you from using you time effectively. Take cell phones for example: I could be working on homework, my phone goes off and I lose all thought. Cell phones cause interruptions, whether it be texts, calls, Facebook, or SnapChat something draws your attention away from what you need to be focused on. Turning off an unnecessary technology is a great way to eliminate time wasters. Without the laptop and cellphone on you can focus on what you really need to be doing. Your friend cannot text you wanting to do things, social media notifications are not distracting you, and you cannot be browsing the internet when you are actually supposed to be working. Another time waster would be procrastination. Everyone has procrastinated at some point, whether it was an assignment we did not want to do or a task at work we want to do, we all have done it. The act is it only hurts us in the end. We either rushed to complete the task or assignment and it was not that great, or we did not even do it at all. Way’s to stop procrastinating include: breaking it down so it’s not so overwhelming, knowing the consequences of not doing the assignment, and eliminating
Although I have not been able to participate as much in class, due to the things going on in my personal life, I have still been able to grasp and understand the information within this course. Majority of what I have learned has been a related to government regulation relating to medical records. Coding regulation and the importance of being detailed with accuracy as it relates to billing. The importance of time management and working against deadline specially in regards to assignments.
The semester goal this year was to go from a 2.75 GPA to a 3.4 GPA. While trying to maintain this average, students should know that they will need to study more frequently by using the school resources such as the CLC and the library area to stay more focused. By having confidence, knowing how to manage time, and communicating with he or she professors, students should pass easily by doing these things. But first, let’s talk about confidence.
Today 70% of teens are not receiving enough sleep (Wallace). In our nation today people of all ages are heavily affected when they do not receive enough sleep. This mostly affects teenagers though because of early start time in schools. The education system in the United States needs to create a later start time as a whole because early start times are causing students to not be as successful as they could be. We need to change this because the start times are negatively affecting a teen’s behavior, grades, and safety. There are many biological reasons why teens need to have the start time changed in order for their brains to function properly. However though some people are failing to move beyond the struggles of a later start time such as transportation and after school activities. On the other hand though many schools are looking past these flaws and finding a way to switch their start times in order to help their students succeed.
After I have completed my time monitoring worksheet I have notice that I need to manage my time properly to be more successful in college and life. I need to have a timetable at home where I write the days of the week and what I must be accomplishing hourly, for example as in the text stated chapter four page (68 ) There are twenty-four hours in a day, I must use my time wisely and set an alarm to remind you when it is time to start studying, cleaning, cook and other important chores.
Time management seems to be one of the most difficult things to do in college. Having time for class, work, and homework on top of trying to have a social life or time to relax and distress can be grueling. During this project, I learned some ways to better my work habits and lessen my procrastination. While sometimes like most people I tend to over stress, but there are other times where I don’t stress enough and end up rushing last minute.
