It takes great skills to trick people like, clever, mischievous, and wise; In William Shakespeare’s play, King Lear and Gloucester are known to be tricked by their children. The similarities between these two characters are, they got betrayed by their children, disowned loyal people in their lives and failure to see reality. Firstly, Lear lets his ungrateful daughters take over his throne and turn their backs on their now powerless father. On the other hand, Gloucester is deceived by his dishonest son into thinking that Edgar wants him dead, but in both cases, it is the exact opposite.
