Criminal Minds and NCIS are both shows that involve criminal actions being solved by special teams. The shows both involve only murderous crimes such as cases involving serial killers. NCIS works with cases that involve the armed forces whether they are serving or if they are a veteran. Criminal Minds deals with cases that can involve normal citizens or citizens that are in the armed forces.
Both Criminal Minds and NCIS have a different number of characters. Although, most of them are alike in one way or another, such as Penelope Garcia, the tech specialist on Criminal Minds, she dresses in colorful and crazy clothing in every episode. Also, Abby Sciuto, the forensic specialist on NCIS, dresses in dark clothing with awkward shoes in every episode. The leaders, Aaron Hotchner of the BAU and Leroy Jethro Gibbs of NCIS are both serious when it comes to work. When they are out of work they are fun to hang with just don’t get

Plot is defined as, "the authors arrangement of incidents in a story it is the organizing principle that controls the controls the order of events (Meyer,64)." The element of plot is heavily relied on in the short story, "The Killings" by Andre Dubus. The plot which is completely made inside the imagination of an author (Meyer,64), gives the audience important insight to people, places, and events in the story (Meyer,64) . "The Killings" provides a somewhat conventional plot pattern, where the character is confronted with a problem and is then led into a climax, which late leads to the resolution of the story (Meyer,65). The conventional plot is easy to follow and serves as a basis for movies and other

The United States Naval Criminal Investigative Service is celebrating the 50th anniversary of investigating crimes for the Marine Corps and the Navy. Criminal Minds is an American fictional crime/drama television show based in Quantico, Virginia. It focuses on an elite group known as the Behavioural Analysis Unit (BAU), a combination of profilers and FBI agents that set about catching numerous criminals through behavioural profiling. Criminal Minds is rather unique compared to other police/FBI dramas by directing themselves towards profiling the criminal rather than the actual crime itself. The plot of the series follows the team as they work on each case and the personal lives of the characters, giving an insight into the life and requirements of a member of the BAU.
Criminal Minds is a CBS TV crime drama, which first aired on September 22, 2005. The show provides unique perspectives, in contrast to current crime dramas, when following the cases of the Behavioral Analyst Unit of the FBI. The subject matter focuses on relationships between the team members, with each having an area of expertise. The diversity of the members draws in the viewer, as each character has something the audience relates to, or can aspire to emulate.
Criminal Minds is one of the most interesting television shows I have come across. What sets it apart from various other shows based on forensic science and FBI storylines is that the BAU (Behavioral Analyst Unit) catches various criminals often referred to as ‘Unsubs’ in the show through behavioral profiling which means the team solves the cases through focusing on the psychology and point of view of the criminals, deeply understanding their stressors, statutory requirements, thought processes and more that lead them into committing some of the deadliest crimes. The show is written extremely well and is believable unlike other crime shows, infact a lot of episodes are based on real crimes committed by infamous criminals. What makes this ever-so-interesting series better is its wonderful cast. Each character in this show namely Hotch, Reid, Morgan, Rossi, Garcia and Prentis have their own quirks and set of skills which they contribute to the team. From Dr. Spencer Reid’s photographic memory and unlimited knowledge about everything to Garcia and
The criminal mind, what does one know about it? All one hears about is what a criminal did wrong. One never hears the reason behind why the individual did the crime. Isn’t one curious as to how the mind of criminal works? That’s why there are people who study for years trying to learn the concept of getting inside a criminal’s mind. These individuals are known as a criminal psychologist. The job of a criminal psychologist is to study the wills, thoughts, intentions, and reactions of criminals. The purpose of criminal psychology is to determine what plays a role in the criminal behavior. When someone mentions criminal psychology, criminal profiling may be the first thing that comes to mind. Criminal profiling is an analysis done by law
Criminal Minds, aired on one of the big five broadcast networks, chronicles the cases of an elite F.B.I. behavioral analysis unit. The biggest defining difference between, Criminal Minds, and other procedural dramas is its emphasis on the mind and personality of the criminal. They aim to catch criminals not by analyzing the crime scene, but by analyzing the psych of the culprit. While the show’s plotlines are often bleak and sinister the overall mood doesn’t feel as authentically grim as it’s cable counterpart, Sons of Anarchy. The narrative structure is quite different from S.O.A and has different plots episode to episode as opposed to a continuous plotline. Neal Gabler in
