Scenario 1: Challenging Hiring Decision
To: John.smith@apple.com
From: polydan.schlueder@apple.com
Date: March 12, 2023
Subject: Applicant Recommendation
It is a tough process to select one from both candidates. Both meet all the requirements for hiring
in terms of education and experience. Both candidates answered the questions from the interview
panel very well. Therefore, if there are chances of hiring both will be my first consideration.
Although both candidates are equally qualified for the position, choosing one is not
easy. Candidate A has an impressive background in terms of education and experience, which
means he can work more efficiently for the organization.
In addition, candidate B represents an
underrepresented minority and was still able to compete with candidate A. Candidate B doesn't
have much background in education and is still able to perform well equally with Candidate A.
His ability and skills can be utilized by this organization by providing a suitable environment for
candidate B.
From this conclusion, we can state that candidate B is more skilled and talented than candidate A
in his performance. This is even though he is from an underrepresented minority and doesn't
have much background in education and experience.
So, as an organization, we are responsible
to provide him an opportunity to nurture Candidate B's skills and talent for the desired goal of
this organization. If there is a possibility of hiring both and giving equal consideration in the job
environment and providing proper training both candidates can perform well. Give them time to
prove that they can improve themselves. However, choosing one of them will be the most
convenient method.

Background Information:
Midge Watson had been working in the Bookkeeping Department of the Best Fits Sporting Goods Manufacturing Company for the four years since she graduated from high school. She was bright, attractive, and popular, and had done well in the company, as her recent promotion to senior Bookkeeper proved. One of her new job responsibilities required Midge to go to the warehouse once a week to check on and verify various inventory and shipment information. This meant that she often worked for three or four hours at a time in the Shipping Office.
In order to reduce the noise from the operations around it, the office was completely walled in. On these trips to Shipping, Midge worked closely with the shipping clerk, Susan Adams. Susan, a veteran employee of ten years with Best Fit, was divorced. Susan maintained all the shipping and inventory information as it was processed. Since Midge had never before worked in an actual manufacturing and warehouse…

RE: Warranty coverage
Hello Mr. Holder, my name is Grace in customer relations. I have a customer who is upset because their air conditioner broke. Looking into the database, I discovered a problem with the updating of the software. Customers that have a warranty are not showing in the database as being active.
I have chosen to cover the warranty because of your policy to honor any warranty bought with the previous owners. I have contacted the customer to inform them that their problem will be taken care of. I have also contacted IT services to correct the issue so that the system updated each account monthly. This will ensure that all accounts that are active stay active and that this issue will not happen again.
