Fear seems to be the most common and effective appeal It draws attention to the message and usually plays on the most powerful emotion which is experiencing the lack of something.

Humour

The use of humour in an advertisement has to be controlled otherwise the seriousness of the message could be lost.

Sex

Sexual appeals are usually used to ensure that that particular advertisement stands out among many others either on television or print media.

Music

Music is also used to separate a particular advertisement from the clutter. For this to occur the tune must be easily recognizable to the listener Also the music should not over power the message so that it gets lost.
