After viewing the trio of videos in our week three learning material folder, I am convinced that the key to success in my healthcare profession lies in the ability to think creatively and critically. This skill will empower me to effectively inspire, guide, and convince a wide range of individuals with diverse personalities.
Examining my own thoughts and behaviors will enhance my leadership
abilities, leading to improved emotional intelligence and more effective
leadership of my team at work. Understanding my own motivations can
assist me in finding strategies to influence positive change among my subordinates.
Prioritizing the needs and values of the team over personal interests, especially when in a position of authority, can foster trust and lead to better collaboration in areas where we have previously worked together. It is important to manage expectations with your team by promising less and delivering more, both when fulfilling their requests and honoring your commitments. Effective communication is crucial in addressing any issues that may arise, as well as in sharing positive news. As a manager, setting an example of reliability in your work and refraining from gossiping about team members will contribute to maintaining a positive team dynamic.
Demonstrating respect for your team members' ideas, even if they are not immediately implemented, communicates that you appreciate their
input. Strategic thinking and planning can reduce the workload and prevent potential issues, enabling you to concentrate on important current goals.

SUNDAY, APRIL 9: CHAOS ON FLIGHT 3411
A fully booked United flight 3411 was preparing to depart from Chicago to Louisville when gate agents realized that four airline crew members needed to get to Louisville. The gate agents asked for four volunteers to give up their seats in return for compensation. No one accepted United’s offer because the flight was the last one to Louisville that evening. United then decided to enact an “involuntary de-boarding situation,” in which four random passengers were directed to deplane. Three of the passengers deplaned without incident. The fourth, Dr. David Dao, refused, saying “I can’t get off the plane. I have to get home. I’m a doctor. I have to get to the hospital in the morning,” according to The Sentinel News.107

How do I respond to this in 100 words?Rewards are considered a vital key in creating employee devotion to increase performance and consistency (Bose & Maheshwary, 2019). When it comes to rewarding employees for their hard work, Plant Manager Henry Simms has various options available. When trying to motivate employees, they are often offered rewards such as additions to base pay, retirement contributions, commissions, profit sharing, cash bonuses, and meals (Employee, 2021). Employers generally focus on maintaining operating costs for better economic gains, so providing additional monetary rewards can conflict with the firm's goals (Holley et al., 2017). Employees report that they prefer to receive rewards based on individual performance, such as an increase in base pay compared to single lump sums or incentive pay (Holley et al., 2017). Looking at the company budget for employee rewards would ultimately determine how they can be handled. I would recommend offering a lunch to both…

Organizational commitment is one of the most prominent things that drive successful organizations; more definitively, affective organizational commitment is the attitude or overall job satisfaction of an organization's employees (McShane & Von Glinow, 2022). As a manager, this is the type of organization we all want, as they are generally happy and want to come to work, unlike the employee found in a continuance commitment employee (McShane & Von Glinow, 2022). Although there are many power sources, the ones that lead to the assurance of affective power for this post, we will use referent power as an example. In my experience, this is used to gain the backing of employees through the belief in leadership and willingness to follow their leadership to the ends of the earth due to their interpersonal communication skills that allow for loyalty and commitment to the idea that they will never leave employees behind (Toscano, 2015).…

Utilizing Emotional Intelligence in the Workplace By Kendra Cherry
Emotional intelligence, sometimes referred to as EQ ("emotional quotient"), refers to a person's ability to
recognize, understand, manage, and reason with emotions. It is a critical ability when it comes to
interpersonal communication-and a hot topic not only in psychology, but in the business world.
The term was coined by psychologists in the 1990s. Its use quickly spread into other areas including
business, education, and popular culture.
What Is Emotional Intelligence?
Psychologists Peter Salovey and John D. Mayer, two of the leading researchers on the topic, define
emotional intelligence as the ability to recognize and understand emotions in oneself and others. This
ability also involves using this emotional understanding to make decisions, solve problems, and
communicate with others. According to Salovey and Mayer, there are four different…
